Description

Problem-based learning (PBL) is commonly used as a STEM pedagogy. This way of working, however, presents challenges to teachers, such as finding an authentic and meaningful problem and giving sufficient attention to each of the STEM disciplines.

This STEMinar will unpack elements of a problem-based learning scenario through a workshop-based approach where participants investigate an authentic STEM problem. The STEMinar will take a practical approach to learning about STEM pedagogy where audience participation will be encouraged.

An experienced panel representing each of the STEM disciplines will unpack the different perspectives contained in the problem, to highlight the knowledge and ways of working that are similar and different in the STEM disciplines.
