Civil engineering hiring

In one of the Faculty of Engineering’s biggest ever recruitment campaigns, the Department of Civil Engineering is on the search for world class academic staff in the fields of Smart Systems and Environmental Engineering. Over the next three years the faculty is seeking to appoint more than 30 academics across all levels from Professor to Lecturer.

Our Department is seeking tomorrow’s academic trail-blazers with the capacity to deliver change and make a positive impact in their field of expertise. Here at Monash we have a strong emphasis on cross-disciplinary research and collaboration and aim to be world leaders in Civil, Resources and Environmental Engineering, contributing to a sustainable future.

Our Environmental Engineering researchers are striking a balance between high competency in fundamental research and collaboration with local and international industry partners. We are specifically seeking applicants with the potential for ‘research translation’ and strong backgrounds in areas such as climate change adaptation, soil remediation, sustainable materials and life cycle assessment, renewable energy, bioenergy, water and modelling, monitoring and assessment and more.

Our world leading researchers in Smart Systems Engineering draw on intra-faculty and inter-faculty links to leverage capability and deliver innovation across a broad range of smart systems initiatives, such as our Digital Agriculture launch pad with Bosch, our Smart Urban Mobility and Intelligent Transport Systems, and Smart Construction initiatives. We are specifically seeking applicants with academic strengths in smart cities and buildings, intelligent infrastructure inspection and monitoring, smart construction, intelligent transportation systems and other areas outlined in the position descriptions available online.

Expressions of interest are welcome until 30 September 2018 this year.
