Monash Engineering has maintained its 5 ranking in the Australian Research Council’s Excellence in Research in Australia (ERA) 2018 report released today, confirming the well above world standard performance of the faculty’s researchers.
Our results contributed to a strong performance overall by Monash University, who achieved world standard status across all disciplines. Engineering was one of five out of ten research disciplines across the University to receive the highest ranking, with Electrical and Electronic Engineering (0906) achieving a 5 rating for the first time.
Other disciplines with contributions from Engineering researchers to achieve 5 rankings included:
- 0901 Aerospace Engineering
- 0903 Biomedical Engineering
- 0904 Chemical Engineering
- 0906 Electrical and Electronic Engineering
- 0910 Manufacturing Engineering
- 0912 Materials Engineering
- 0204 Condensed matter physics
- 0302 Inorganic chemistry
- 0303 Macromolecular and Materials Chemistry
- 0801 Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing
- 1007 Nanotechnology
“I would like to congratulate all of our researchers for maintaining such exceptional results in the ERA 2018, and thank the dedicated staff who worked on the submission,“ said Associate Dean (Research) Professor Christopher Hutchinson.
“I am delighted and proud of the well above world standard results achieved by our researchers in the ERA 2018,” said Dean of Engineering Professor Elizabeth Croft. “These results confirm Monash Engineering’s respected track-record for producing world-leading research outcomes. I extend my warmest congratulations to our researchers and look forward to even greater success as we continue to achieve our ambitious plans for the future.”
