Principal Structural Engineer at Arup - Brendon graduated from Monash in 1989. Originally from Melbourne, he joined Arup as a graduate intending to never spend more than five years in any one company.
In his time with Arup, Brendon has worked around the world spending time in Hong Kong, London and Singapore. His core work is in the architectural buildings field and he has been lucky to be exposed to many leading international architects in his time as an engineer. Returning to Australia in 2011, he has held roles in Melbourne leading Arup’s Buildings Structures group as well as the office as a whole.Brendon also has a strong interest in humanitarian engineering and community partnering work.
He currently chairs the steering committee for the Victorian Indigenous Engineering Winter School (VIEWS), and assists in the architectural departments of RMIT and Melbourne University. He has been involved with a number of industry bodies and groups during his career and currently sits on a board charged with producing a new code for Modular Construction. Brendon continues to learn from each project he is involved with and continually expands his sphere of design influence outside of structural engineering.
Brendon enjoys the human side of projects, working with teams of people to create buildings of design note and quality. In the future he hopes to concentrate on smaller more intimate work with like minded individuals.
