The lists below include suggestions for ways that you can accumulate CPD hours, as does the Engineering Student Career Hub site.
They are not comprehensive and there are many other opportunities that you can also consider, so please ensure you do your own searching as well.
Monash activities
Engineering-related Monash Activities
- Engineers Without Borders – Monash Chapter
- Monash Engineering Co-operative Education Internship Program (Co-op)
- Monash Engineering Curriculum-based Activities: You can count up to 70 hours of Engineering-related Curriculum-based activities towards your CPD. Hours you spend outside the classroom on group assignments, presentations, Final Year Projects, Study Abroad/Study Exchange etc, can be counted.
- Monash Engineering Career Ready Series (CRS)
- Monash Engineering Summer Research Program
- Monash Engineering Teams, Clubs & Societies: Monash has 30+ Engineering Teams, Clubs & Societies – active participation in events with an Engineering focus (guest speaker, networking, industry visit etc) can be counted as Engineering-related CPD hours
- Monash Innovation Guarantee - Experiential unit BEX2750 / BEX3750 - runs over the summer semester, can be counted in the Work Experience category and does have some projects which are Engineering-related
- Monash Peer Assisted Study Session (PASS) Leader - (can be Engineering-related if focused on engineering content)
- Monash Engineering Tropical Exchange Challenge (E-TEC)
- Monash Generator programs (can be Engineering-related if the start-up or idea you work on is Engineering focused)

- Engineers Australia – free for students to join – attend events or complete free online courses
- Young Engineers Australia – free Virtual Work Experience Modules (each module is between 2-5 hours in length)
- Prosple Virtual Experiences – free Virtual Experiences, some of which are Engineering-related
- Forage – free Virtual Work Experience Programs (each online program is around 5-6 hours in length and there are some that are Engineering-related)
- Hackathons – search online to find an Engineering-related hackathon to participate in (for example here and here)
- Code Club Australia (volunteer to teach kids how to code)
- CS in Schools (volunteer to help coding be taught effectively in schools)
