Welcome to the Monash Engineering Student and Industry Engagement team at Monash University.
The Engineering Student and Industry Engagement team offer a range of education enhancement programs to support students during their journey at Monash University and beyond. The programs offered equip students with the knowledge and skills required to help them be confident and articulate and ready to work in the industry.
To help us continue to deliver successful programs, we would like to partner with industry representatives who would be interested in participating in one or more of our programs.

Offering students the ability to undertake work experience provides the opportunity to advertise, interview and get to know students within your working environment. It also provides the ability for companies to increase their profile within the University.
Women in Engineering - Industry Event
The purpose of the Women in Engineering Industry Event is to inform female engineering students about potential career pathways in engineering. It also provides students with the opportunity to hear from a range of women from industry (engineering & non-engineering), and a networking opportunity that creates an environment where networking is recognised as being less daunting than initially perceived.
Final Year Projects
All engineering students have to do final year research project and a final year design project. A select number of students are invited to participate in fully embedded industry projects, located at the industry partner.
Each department has an academic in charge of final year projects.
The industry visits give students the opportunity to gain an insight into the engineering world, appreciate the range and complexity of engineering, meet a range of people (including current graduates) connected with an engineering company and be motivated by the exciting careers and projects available within engineering. The visits can be to a site or to the company office.
They are also designed to encourage leadership students to familiarise themselves with the organisational structure of a company that employs engineers. The aim is to provide students with insights into the types of engineering jobs available and how their studies relate to future employment.
The industry visits are also beneficial for your organisation as they are a great opportunity for you to profile your company and meet the best and brightest engineering students from our university.
Participate as a Guest Speaker/Panellist
The Student and Industry Engagement Team are always in search of experienced industry representatives who are passionate about the industry. The Engineering Leadership Program induction, modules, awards evening and ‘Mock interview’ activities are some examples of how you can get involved as a Panellist.
Scholarships are provided to students taking part in the Monash Engineering Leadership Program as well as across the Engineering Faculty as a whole. These scholarships are provided by our Industry Partners and Philanthropic Donors and are available through a competitive application / interview based process.
Access to the best and brightest engineering students at Monash University
Ability to select and interview your own scholarship students
Ability to offer vacation work and an industry mentor*
Ability to position your company as an employer of choice
Ability to tailor your scholarship by discipline, equity, year level of student or a combination
The Faculty of Engineering strives to develop long term relationships with industry. Companies may offer multiple scholarship each year and we recommend scholarships are offered over 3 years per student. We can tailor each scholarship to meet individual requirements either by discipline, equity or disadvantage, year level of student or a combination of all.
The Faculty of Engineering is launching a cooperative education program which includes optional paid work terms for eligible students. Work terms comprise 3 to 6 months paid work experience with industry. We are keen to hear from organisations interested in offering paid internships to bright, well-prepared Engineering students from November 2018.
