Why join Monash?
Study with the best in Australia
Monash University is ranked as the best university in Australia for engineering and technology by the Times Higher Education 2019-2020.
What’s more, Monash itself is in the top 1 per cent of world universities according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019-2020, and a member of the prestigious Group of Eight Universities here in Australia.
Flexible course options
Our engineering degrees provide a common first year to help you get your bearings in this very diverse field. From the second year onwards, you can start to specialise, selecting from the widest range of choice in engineering courses in Australia. And you can broaden your career options further with a double degree.
Professional accreditation
The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering has close ties with Engineers Australia and the Institution of Chemical Engineers (UK), and our courses are fully accredited by both bodies.
The Institution of Chemical Engineers (UK) has also accredited several Monash Engineering degrees as equivalent to the MEng degree from a recognised UK university. In addition, Australia is a signatory to the Washington Accord, which means Monash Engineering graduates can work in any other signatory country, without the need to re-qualify.
A total learning experience
Great engineers are so much more than just their skills. At Monash, our engineering courses aim to produce highly skilled engineers who are ready for life, ready for work, ready for the world.
The Society of Monash University Chemical Engineers (SMUCE), is a student-run society that bridges the gap between the classroom and the outside world – linking students, academics and industry, through programs such as our Industry Seminar Series, and through the many social events held throughout the year.
