Transport Management Course for Bus Operators

The introduction of the Bus Safety Act (2009) and Bus Safety Regulations 2010 brought in a new accreditation process with new regulatory requirements for the operation of bus services in Victoria from the end of 2010. In addition, the Bus Services Act 1995 also carries regulatory requirements of some types of bus operators who undertake bus service contracts in Victoria.

The Monash Institute of Transport Studies, in conjunction with Transport Safety Victoria, the Department of Transport and BusVic, has developed an education program to assist persons to meet the requirements of the Bus Safety Act (2009), Bus Safety Regulations 2010 and Bus Services Act 1995.

The Transport Management Course (TMC) for Bus Operators consists of four core subjects:

  • *Subject 5101 / Subject 6101: Introduction to Bus Safety
  • *Subject 5102 / Subject 6102: Safety Risk Management for Bus Operators
  • Subject 5103: Financial Management for Bus Operators
  • Subject 5104: Business Development for Bus Operators

*completed via the Bus Safety Management Program for Bus Operators

*Note if you cannot complete the payment via the Shop.Monash University payment system with a debit/credit card or PayPal, payment can be made via an Official Bank Cheque or a Postal Note from Australia Post (payable to Monash University). NOTE: Personal or business cheques or cash cannot be accepted. If you choose this payment option, please send the official Bank Cheque or Postal Note from Australia Post together with the completed Enrolment Form to the contact address provided below by the closing date of the relevant semester.

4.On receipt of enrolment and advice of payment, a brief acknowledgment of enrolment letter, will be sent to you in the mail within five-ten (5-10) working days. This brief acknowledgment letter can be used as proof of enrolment for Public Transport Victoria (PTV) Accreditation purposes.
