Students can submit their applications from 16 May to 5 June. Interviews for those who are chosen for the next round will then happen from 20 June to 24 June.
English Connect will consider only one application per student.
There are a number of workshops run by Career Connect that you may find useful for your application. These include the Career Connect ‘How To’ workshops, especially those on writing key selection criteria and interview skills: https://www.monash.edu/career-connect/build/job-workshops.
For all positions, you need to be a current Monash student to apply and continue to be a student throughout 2022 and the first semester of 2023. This is because all contracts are a year long. You also need to be available 18 to 22 July for compulsory training. Each position has also a number of specific criteria which you can check on their respective statement of duties.
A statement of duty is the document that outlines the responsibilities of a particular position, as well as the key selection criteria for potential applicants. You can also find details of what documents you need to submit for each position in the statement of duty.
After receiving the documents for each position, all applications will be reviewed by the English Connect team and shortlisted applicants will be contacted for an interview. If you are successful at the interview, you will hear from us in 2 to 3 weeks.
All applications need to be submitted via the online form on the Recruitment website.
The interview will take place in Monday 20 to Friday 24 of June 2022. You will be contacted the week before the interviews to choose from the available time slots.
If you are not selected for an interview, you will receive an email to inform you of the outcome by the end of the semester.
Unfortunately no, we will complete all our recruitment for 2022/3 during this round of applications.
Yes, English Connect is a peer-to-peer program so you need to be a Monash student in 2022 and the first semester of 2023 to apply.
Unfortunately, if you are not available in July 2022 for the training we will not be able to offer you a position.
We will consider your application if you do not have an employee Working with Children Check at the time of submission. However, if you are successful at the recruitment process, you will only be able to sign up a contract with English after obtaining a Working with Children Check. For information about how to obtain a Working with Children Check, click here: http://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/.
You can still apply, but if you are successful at the interview then you will need to be living in Melbourne by 18 July in order to accept your contract. We are only able to offer contracts to students who are in Melbourne from 18 July onwards.
The interviews are all face-to-face. There will be reasonable concessions made for students who are still living overseas or who need to isolate, and these will need to be made on an individual needs basis.
