NOTICE OF ELECTION TO ACADEMIC BOARD
One (1) Higher Degree by Research Student Member
In accordance with the Monash University Academic Board – Election Procedures, nomination of candidates for the election of ONE (1) Higher Degree by Research student member to the Monash University Academic Board are invited.
As approved by Academic Board the member elected will hold office from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2023.
To be eligible as a higher degree by research student member of the University, a person must:
a) be enrolled at an Australian campus or Australian teaching location at no less than 0.5 equivalent full-time student load (EFTSL or equivalent); or
b) be granted an intermission from a course of study at an Australian campus or Australian teaching location pursuant to regulation 70 of the Monash University (Council) Regulations; or
c) a combination of a) and b); and
if also an employee of the University, not hold a continuing or fixed-term appointment exceeding 0.5 equivalent full-time (EFT).
Nominators and voters must be higher degree by research students, including all students enrolled as candidates for a master’s by research or doctoral degree of the University.
Nominations must be made by five (5) eligible voters on the appropriate nomination form, available here
Candidates may also supply a candidate statement of up to 250 words with their nomination. Please note that this statement will be published on the election website.
Deadline for nominations: 5:00pm (AEDT) Wednesday 13 October 2021.
Deadline for supply of candidate statements: 5:00pm (AEDT) Friday 15 October 2021.
If more than one (1) valid nomination is received, a ballot will be conducted by electronic voting on Wednesday 20 October 2021, 9.00AM (AEDT) and ending on Friday 29 October 2021, 12.00PM (AEDT).
