Ally Network
The Ally Network supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and gender diverse, intersex, queer and questioning, asexual and aromantic plus other related identities (LGBTIQA+) people at Monash. Allies take a proactive stance against discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity and intersex status and help cultivate an inclusive culture. Find out more here or become an Ally

Pride in Diversity
Monash has been a member of Pride in Diversity since 2014. Pride in Diversity is Australia’s first and only national not-for-profit employer support program for all aspects of LGBTIQ workplace inclusion. Pride in Diversity works closely with us in providing advice, training and consultancy to help Monash support our LGBTIQ staff.

Australian Workplace Equality Index
The Australian Workplace Equality Index AWEI is a national benchmark on LGBTIQ workplace inclusion. It measures policy, practice, programs and culture inclusive culture. Monash holds a Silver level award.

Transgender and Gender Diverse Staff

Marriage equality
Monash has joined over 2000 organisations in supporting marriage equality in Australia. Monash President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Margaret Gardner AO, said the University has long been a supporter of equity and diversity, with a focus on inclusion a key element of its strategic plan. “Since it was founded, Monash has stood for the principles of fairness, tolerance and diversity. Support for marriage equality is consistent with these values and our commitment to championing those values,”
