Commonwealth Assistance Notice (CAN)

CAN notices available in WES

If you're a CSP, FEE-HELP or SA-HELP student, we'll email you to tell you when your Commonwealth Assistance Notice is available in the Web Enrolment System (WES).

What to check

Check your notice to make sure your enrolment, fees and payment details are correct. Print a copy to keep for your records as WES doesn't store them beyond six weeks.

What if the notice is wrong?

It's your responsibility to keep track of your loan and entitlements, so if your notice is wrong, you need to dispute any errors:

  • in writing
  • using the link provided on the notice
  • within 14 days of the date of issue.

We can't review a late dispute unless you prove special circumstances. It takes 5-10 working days to resolve a dispute and we email the outcome to your Monash account.

Tracking your Commonwealth assistance

The notice will also have your Commonwealth Higher Education Student Support Number (CHESSN). If you want to find out how much Commonwealth assistance you have received, you can use this number to login to the government website myUniAssist.
