Terms and conditions of entry – 2022

  1. Current Monash students and staff members can submit an original work of art on the theme of respectful relationships at Monash.
    • 'Current' means you’re enrolled as a student or engaged as a staff member during 2022.
    • 'Original' means that it's your own work. If you draw inspiration from an existing piece, you must credit the artist. This includes the artist’s name and the name of their piece.
  2. Entries can be visual art, such as photography, or poetry – anything that could convince somebody to think more deeply about behaving respectfully.
  3. You need to submit your work (or a photo of it) in a high-resolution format (e.g. 4000 x 4000 pixels).
  4. All entries must be submitted to Respectful Communities by 11.59pm on 7 August 2022 using our online form. You need to provide:
    1. your chosen theme
    2. your name and professional contact details
    3. your position at Monash
    4. a statement about your entry, the story behind it and how it relates to your chosen theme.
  5. The judging panel will consist of Monash students and staff, with the winning entries announced by the end of August 2022.
  6. Selected artworks will be featured on a postcard or poster to be displayed around Monash University, and on our website. The artist's details will be displayed to help each artist get their name and work recognised. If you don’t want your work published, you can opt out – just let us know when submitting your artwork.
  7. An exhibition of submitted works will be held during Diversity and Inclusion Week (12–16 September 2022). The display will include each entrant’s work (or a photo of their work), their accompanying text submission, and their details. If you don’t want to participate in the exhibition, you can opt out – just let us know when submitting your artwork.
