Thriving communities

Deeply rooted in Melbourne but with an international outlook, Monash is working with its community of donors to contribute to a thriving Victoria.

While much of our work is of global consequence, Monash maintains proud roots in its Melbourne home. Diverse people and organisations choose to work with Monash to enrich their communities because our university is deeply embedded in our city and state, and because our community-focused projects touch thousands of local lives.

We’re committed to artistic endeavours, and transforming our performing arts facilities and creating a new cultural precinct on our Clayton campus to strengthen our positive impact on the cultural life of Melbourne.

In education across the state, we are improving the effectiveness of our school teachers and strengthening career pathways for young Indigenous Australians nationwide. And as part of our mission for social justice, we are proud to offer free legal advice to thousands of vulnerable and disadvantaged Victorians through our community legal clinics.

Our work influences social policy through projects such as our decade long study into Australian attitudes around immigration, and as a trusted advisor to business and government on reducing climate emissions: when we talk, leaders listen.

“The Ian Potter Foundation has shown us such extraordinary support, not just for our current and ongoing projects, but for our vision and has allowed us to pursue our ambition with our new performing arts precinct.”
