A Monash first.

Monash University is proud to host its inaugural Graduate Student Conference in 2017 at the Clayton campus.

This three-day conference provides the perfect setting for graduate students (coursework and research) to network with Monash alumni, industry guests and each other.

The conference includes keynotes, panel discussions and workshops that will enable graduate students at Monash to develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a rapidly changing workforce.

For PhD students, sessions count towards the Monash Doctoral Program.

Keynote Speakers

  • Dr Waleed Aly

    Waleed Aly is a broadcaster, author, academic, musician and one of Australia’s most respected and versatile media talents. He has interviewed a myriad of influential people from Julia Gillard to The Bangles. Waleed is currently the host of Network 10's The Project and has become widely recognised and trusted by audiences across Australia who turn to his insights and analysis into issues facing Australia and the world.Keynote on Monday 19 June at Robert Blackwood Hall, Clayton Campus. 10am-11am.

  • Holly Ransom

    Holly is the CEO of Emergent, a company specialising in the development of high performing intergenerational workforces, leadership and social outcomes. Holly is renowned for generating innovative solutions to complex multi-stakeholder problems for corporations, governments and nonprofit organisations, and for coaching and professionally mentoring leaders of all generations around the world. Keynote on Tuesday 20 June at Robert Blackwood Hall, Clayton Campus. 10am-11am.

21 June - GradHack (Hackathon)

  • Hackathon Streams

    A hackathon is a team-based problem solving event which encourages creative brainstorming and the rapid prototyping of concepts, applications or products in order to generate solutions. The GradHack builds on the 'design thinking' and 'pitching your idea' training from day 2 of the conference by engaging Monash graduate students with problems organised around 4 different themes.

  • Hackathon Awards

    The GradHack is an opportunity to learn by doing, share your insights, make friends and win prizes. Each member of the winning team, as decided by our panel of judges, will be awarded a cash prize of $500AUD.
