Staff procession

All academic and professional staff members are encouraged to celebrate students' achievements by participating in a staff procession at a graduation ceremony.

Register for the procession and/or your academic dress

Registrations for December 2019 ceremonies are open between Tuesday 12 November and Tuesday 12 December.

Register your participation in the staff procession and your intention to borrow academic dress or whether you have your own academic dress.

Some ceremonies have limited numbers in the procession (due to seating capacity on stage), so seating preference is given to the supervisors of doctoral candidates.

After submitting your form, we'll email you to acknowledge your registration.

On the day of the ceremony

You’ll collect your academic dress and/or join the procession at:

Research staff meeting room, ground floor, Chancellery Building E, 24 Sports Walk. Map location

You must be there at least 45 minutes before the ceremony.

Academic dress

Borrowing academic dress

You can borrow academic dress free of charge for the ceremony.

If you’re a graduate of Monash (or some other Melbourne-based institutions) you’ll wear the Monash academic dress relevant to your award, subject to requirements and availability.

If you graduated from an institution outside of Melbourne (or we don’t have the academic dress relevant to your award), you can borrow a Council gown (without a hood or stole) and trencher cap.
