Local Outcomes to date

While the focus of the Hazelwood Health Study is on responding to the research questions raised by the community during community consultations shortly after the mine fire, the study is well placed to inform local health policy and practice.

The study works closely with the Latrobe Health Assembly, Latrobe Health Advocate, and the Gippsland Primary Health Network to discuss recent findings and consider their local health implications, and to consider future research priorities for the region.

As part of our annual community briefings, we have started to take the opportunity to reflect on local impacts to date. The following video clip is an excerpt from the 2022 Community Briefing where Co-Principal Investigator Dr Matthew Carroll provided a brief update on key outcomes during the past year.

As the study progresses, more information will be added here.

Information about our specific findings to date are available at https://hazelwoodhealthstudy.org.au/study-findings, which includes brief fact sheets, detailed reports, and published academic articles.
