As Manager of the China GP Programs and Senior Research Fellow, Dr Yang works closely with Professor Leon Piterman in running the China GP programs. Dr Yang is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Chinese General Practice. Dr Yang previously held the position of Health Policy and Management at Peking University and has 17 years experience at Peking University as a researcher and teacher. Dr Yang has led and participated in a number of national level initiatives in China. These include, national health service research, Chinese rural primary healthcare planning and evaluation, occupational health policy and intervention in small-scale township enterprises, Chinese rural cooperative medical insurance studies, health education and promotion on non-communicable disease, management of maternal and child care, regional health resource planning in urban China, ageing population and healthcare utilisation and the scope and role of private medical practices in three provinces of China. Dr Yang has published 200 articles in Chinese and international journals.
