Community engagement has a vital role in transforming cities, ensuring that urban planning and design support sustainable and equitable outcomes. A variety of participatory approaches can be used to engage the community in the decision making process. They aim to encourage the sharing of ideas and opinions so that urban design and planning reflect the diversity of beliefs, needs, and desires of the community which our cities are planned around.
