Master of Public Policy and Management (A6033) View
The Master of Public Policy and Management (MPPM) builds practical knowledge and skills in policy-making, policy analysis and public management across the spectrum of public sector activities. The course will develop your understanding of the processes of policy formulation, implementation and delivery of public services and programs, and the political and structural realities that influence decision-making.
The MPPM leverages Monash’s global reputation and expertise in delivering public policy education and has been especially designed for Indonesia to train the next generation of public policy leaders, practitioners and scholars keen to contribute towards addressing contemporary policy challenges. It combines knowledge of public policy theory and practice to enable professionals to be effective policy practitioners who can work in or with governments to shape how policy agendas are negotiated and how public policies are designed and implemented.
The MPPM is for working professionals who want to pursue or accelerate their career in a policy-related field as a policy practitioner, adviser, analyst or advocate. The course will prepare you for a career at all levels of government, NGOs, international development agencies, research think tanks, consulting firms, and private businesses that interact with government and contribute to or are affected by public policy in local, national and global settings.
This degree will equip you with industry relevant specialist skills and prepare you for working and living in a world of constant technological, environmental, political and demographic change. The course provides an immersive and interactive learning experience and is designed to foster skills to critically evaluate evidence, develop and support arguments, conduct policy research using a variety of methodological approaches, communicate with impact, and understand the possibilities and challenges of public policy practice and reform. You will learn from accomplished and internationally-recognised academics, scholars and practitioners, and benefit from their wide-ranging intellectual expertise and real-world policy experience.
The degree offers flexibility to tailor your study to your career goals through the choice of two specialisations. The Policy studies stream will widen your disciplinary perspectives of public policy and provide you with a potential pathway to undertake a higher research-based degree. The Global studies stream will develop your skills and knowledge of public policy in international contexts, and prepare you for a global public policy career. Students taking this specialisation have the opportunity to enrol in approved elective units taught by Monash Australia, the option to take a study tour to India, and conclude their studies with a dedicated capstone focusing on a global policy challenge.

The Master of Business Innovation (MBI) program at Monash University, Indonesia is designed for experienced professionals looking to enhance their management and innovation skills to drive business performance.

With an average age of 30 and 5-10 years of work experience, current MBI students are well-positioned to create positive impacts and contribute to the nation's economy.

Master of Data Science (C6009) View
Our Master of Data Science is a technical program, but we welcome students from various levels of experience, starting from budding professionals to VP/Head level, even if they are not from a cognate background. There are no prerequisites in terms of business or information technology (IT) understanding, as we provide foundational knowledge and skills in IT during the first two terms to ensure all students can effectively engage with the course material.
Our curriculum has been developed by Monash Australia, ensuring a comprehensive and industry-relevant education. We have already undertaken projects with industry leaders such as Tokopedia, Indonesia's largest e-commerce platform.
During the course, students can expect to delve into topics and themes such as data analysis, data visualisation, big data modelling, and machine learning. These skills are versatile and can be applied to various domains and areas, providing students with a solid foundation to excel as data professionals in both private and public sectors.

The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including sustainability, smart cities, and urban policy, to equip graduates with the skills and expertise needed for successful careers in the field. With a focus on practical application and real-world projects, students will develop the necessary skills to address complex urban design challenges.
With over half of the world's population already living in urban areas and this number projected to increase to two-thirds by 2050, pursuing a Master's degree in Urban Design has never been more crucial. This global trend underscores the demand for skilled urban designers who can create sustainable and livable cities for future generations. In Indonesia, rapid urbanisation and population growth pose unique challenges that necessitate innovative solutions from trained urban designers.
To enrol in the urban design program, applicants should have an Australian bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as architecture or landscape architecture. Additionally, a Design Project Portfolio showcasing excellent design and visual communication skills, proficiency in computer-aided design software, and computer literacy is required.

The Master of Public Health at Monash University, Indonesia prepares driven and inquisitive healthcare professionals to become forward-thinking and responsive health leaders who will investigate, adapt to, and improve ongoing and emerging public health challenges in Indonesia and internationally.

The Master of Sustainability program at Monash University, Indonesia, is designed to equip students with industry-relevant knowledge and skills to address the sustainability challenges faced by Indonesia, both in private and government sectors. As the nation rapidly transforms, there is a growing need for skilled professionals who can deliver practical solutions to issues related to ESG and the SDGs such as reducing emissions and waste, improving air quality, developing renewable energy, and combating deforestation and flooding.
The curriculum combines evidence-based knowledge with hands-on learning opportunities and practical, transdisciplinary problem-solving skills, enabling students to develop innovative solutions and drive policy change for complex problems. The program also combines global perspectives and knowledge with local context and expertise, equipping students to address sustainability issues at national, regional, and international levels.
The students are expected to contribute to the sustainable, equitable, and thriving future of Indonesia by driving policies, projects, and practices that promote environmental, social, and economic sustainability. In addition, they will be able to demonstrate leadership and advocacy skills to influence decision-makers and drive positive change in their respective organisations and communities.

1.5 year full-time / 3.5 years part-time (estimated) depending on prior qualifications. See the "Entry Requirements" section below.

Fees
- IDR 28 million per 6 credit point unit. The fees quoted are for Indonesian nationals.
- To graduate with a Master's degree students take 72 credit points.
- The total cost for a 72 credit point Master of Sustainability degree is IDR 336 million.

Monash University, Indonesia students will typically complete their course across six terms
Each term is six-weeks in length. Terms are also referred to as teaching blocks or teaching periods.
The Master of Sustainability has been designed so that students who wish to remain working full-time may do so as the classes are run on weekends and out of hours on weekdays. Students who wish to study part-time may choose to take fewer units per term.

The campus location in Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) City in South west Jakarta, is part of a burgeoning, modern and sustainable city centre, only 30km from central Jakarta.

What accommodation options are available around the campus? View
Green Office Park (GOP) is located in BSD City in the Tangerang region to the west of Greater Jakarta. South Tangerang contains several self-contained middle-income townships, including in BSD city.
BSD is a 6,000 hectare township that still has over 2,500 ha worth of greenfield development potential. The township has reliable public transport network within BSD and back to Central Jakarta, plus pedestrian sidewalks and bicycle lanes to link residences with education, retail, entertainments and service hubs within BSD.
The township has plentiful housing and accommodation options.
Understanding the private rental market
Please note that this list is not exhaustive and is intended to act as a reference point only. The accommodation options outlined are provided without endorsement or affiliation with Monash University, but for the convenience of our students.
The Private Rental Market means that you are renting your own property either by yourself, with your family or with a group of friends. There will be one agreement and one bond for the entire property/room.
The private rental market is regulated under government regulations no. 14/1994 (PP no 14/1994). For dispute resolution refer to regulations no. 14/1994.
Option 1 – Condominiums and apartments
There are ample one and two-bedrooms condominiums and apartments between 0.9 km and 6 km from Green Office Park. Estimated travel time is 5 – 15 minutes by public transport. Prices range from RP 1.8m ($160 AUD) per calendar month to RP 4m ($360 AUD) per calendar month.

Option 2 – Boarding houses
Single rooms at Boarding houses with 3-7 rooms include options with private/shared bathrooms and shared kitchen. They are located between 1.8km and 10km from GOP and range in price from RP 800,000 ($70 AUD) per calendar month to RP 2.5m ($220 AUD) per calendar month. Estimated travel time from GOP is 7 – 20 minutes by public transport.

Option 3 – Hotels
There are five large hotels (3, 4 and 5 star) within 2 km of Green Office Park. Rates range from RP 565,000 ($50 AUD) to RP 942,000 ($90 AUD) per night. Estimated travel time from GOP is between 5 minutes by public transport.

Based on Kepemdikbud-Nomor-83_P_2020, Monash University's TEQSA international accreditation is recognised by the Indonesian government.
