Institute for Safety, Compensation and Recovery Research (ISCRR) – research-policy partnership

A research-policy partnership between WorkSafe Victoria, the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and Monash University. ISCRR aims to develop, conduct and translate research that has an impact and leads to positive change in practice or policy. Five broad areas are covered: safe and healthy workplaces, evidence-informed claims management, primary health care, smart independent living environments and improving trauma care.
ISCRR has conducted major research in a range of areas including the long-term recovery outcomes for people with traumatic brain injury, the role GPs play in injured workers returning to work, and the impact of stressful compensation claims on recovery times.
ISCRR is establishling greater research capacity at the University’s Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, the Faculty of Business and Economics and the Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC) to enable researchers to work together across departments and disciplines to tackle challenges in occupational health and safety, injury compensation and recovery research.
