Reimagining equity beyond access to technology

World-leading, the Digital Equity and Digital Transformation (DEDT) group is optimising the social, cultural and economic benefits of information communication technologies (ICTs).

We envision a world where information is used to sustain and nourish people – a world where discourses around data and ethics have shifted towards technologies for humanist self-actualisation. Our research focuses on understanding the people and organisational dimensions, the complexities and needs of the social networks that ICTs serve, to optimise their social, cultural and economic benefits.

Through our work, we’re ensuring that communities have equitable participation in the digital world and can thrive within our society and democracy. This includes those who can’t or elect not to participate digitally.
