Formerly known as Community, Organisational and Social Informatics (COSI), the Digital Equity group investigates the impact and influences of information and communication technologies (ICT) on individuals and communities. Through our work, we aim to ensure that technologies play a positive role in society.
We've repositioned the interdisciplinary perspectives of COSI under Digital Equity. This new name reflects our concern for digital information and data that empowers individuals, organisations and communities – and embodies the overarching aspiration for our work.
Gathering researchers from all backgrounds, such as archival science, IT management, information systems, community informatics and librarianship, we collaborate extensively with partners around the world to optimise the social, cultural and economic benefits of ICT. Our work sits at the
intersection of people, organisations, human-centred design and social networks.
