Medical Research Future Fund Preventive and Public Health Research Initiative - 2020 Maternal First 2000 Days and Childhood Health Grant

Led by Dr Cheryce Harrison at MCHRI, Dr McIntosh is a Chief Investigator on ‘Optimising the delivery of antenatal interventions in public healthcare: Improving equity, access and engagement for better maternal and neonatal health outcomes: ($1,450,943)’

An increasing proportion of young women are commencing pregnancy either overweight or obese.

Research demonstrates that lifestyle interventions improve health during pregnancy and are cost effective, yet scale up into routine pregnancy care remains limited.

In this project we’re bridging this critical gap with support from stakeholders and community members, by developing and enhancing digital technology to increase accessibility, usability and engagement across two Australian healthcare settings.
