Street Law: Legal Literacy from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe
Street Law involves the delivery of legal literacy programs designed to make people aware of their legal rights and where they can get legal help.
Professor David McQuoid-Mason has extensive experience contributing to Street Law programs in countries from Afghanistan to Moldova to Zimbabwe. He has taken his expertise to over 60 countries, drafting legal aid legislation, establishing law clinics and Street Law programmes, and conducting clinical legal education training sessions.
In the 2021 Susan Campbell Oration, Professor McQuoid-Mason will draw upon his experience to discuss how Street Law programs can contribute to clinical legal education and access to justice.
