Patent and Trade Marks Attorney Requirements

Trade Marks Attorney

The Faculty of Law teaches several units annually which are accredited by the Professional Standards Board for Patent and Trade Marks Attorneys (PSB) (now known as the Trans-Tasman IP Attorneys Board) to satisfy the knowledge requirements for registration as a Trade Marks Attorney. Students are responsible to ascertain which units need to be covered.

Students applying for trade mark attorney registration must satisfy requirements for topics A, B, C, D.

Patent Attorney

The Faculty of Law teaches several additional units that have accreditation from the PSB for some of the knowledge requirements for a Patent Attorney. The remaining requirements, if not offered at Monash, may be completed via complementary study enrolment at a different university.
