Daniel is a senior lecturer at Macquarie Law School and the founding director of the Macquarie University Social Justice Clinic. He is also the acting director of Law PACE – the law school’s experiential education program. He is a Special Counsel at the National Justice Project and a volunteer lawyer at Refugee Advice and Casework Services. His research focuses on comparative refugee and immigration law. He has a particular focus on how restrictive asylum policies are spreading around the world. This is the topic of his new book, Refuge Lost: Asylum Law in an Interdependent World (CUP, 2018).
