Center Stage: Focusing the Spotlight on Students Leading “Professional Meetings” as a Tool for Professional Identity Development
Preparing students for “Professional Meetings” is a centerpiece of the classroom component of Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law’s signature co-op program. “Professional Meetings” present a unique opportunity for the development of professional identity. The professor uses “Professional Meetings” as a teaching tool in distinct ways that will be addressed in this presentation. These educational experiences allow students to hone planning, organizational, and leadership skills that apply in the field. As situations present themselves, students can take the lead in planning internal meetings, presenting findings to colleagues, and assuming various responsibilities of a lawyer-all in a professional manner.
