Clinical Legal Education: Through the Looking Glass
When a curious young girl called Alice peered ‘Through the Looking Glass’ she discovered an alternative universe full of colourful characters who challenged her ideas, and offered a new perspective. This presentation invites legal educators to peer Through the Looking Glass into the world of clinical legal education. It proposes that clinical classrooms offer a unique learning climate which enhances the wellbeing of students. The presentation will use a psychological framework to conceptualise wellbeing research and to propose a Wellbeing Learning Climate for law students. The theory that clinical legal education contributes to law student wellbeing will be explored interactively.
