Preparing for clinic, the profession and life requires the integration of the curriculum from the formative first year onwards. In an integrated curriculum instructional approaches are interwoven with experiential learning (EL) and inquiry-based learning (IBL) aligning learning outcomes with learning strategies. Too often IBL and EL approaches (exemplified by clinic) are in silos or later years.
We will ask you to critique our proposed first year curriculum which starts the student journey towards achieving broader outcomes including: domain knowledge; ability and predisposition to inquire and ethical awareness. Your views will inform our thinking for our publication on a new model curriculum.
