Reflective Practice: Practical Frameworks for Teaching and Assessing Student Reflections

Whilst much is written about the purpose and role of reflection, there is still uncertainty about what it means and what it looks like in the context of legal education. This session will focus on ‘what it looks like’ and consider two example methods used to teach and assess reflective practice in legal clinics at QUT and Berkeley School of Law.
This will be an interactive session in which we will compare and discuss example frameworks; use marking criteria to mark example student reflections; and consider examples of feedback given to students on specific reflective memos.
