Young workers centre and direct action
This session focusses on a flexible and dynamic clinic model recently created by the Trades Hall Council of Victoria.
The Centre incorporates a community legal centre that provides legal advice and casework. The Centre also conducts research and undertakes community legal education with young workers.
However, the Centre distinguishes itself by its capacity to runs public campaigns to directly address work place issues that have been identified by its CLC client base of young workers.
This additional capacity provides the Centre with the potential to resolve issues more effectively, speedily and broadly than a traditional legal service model.
