Associate Professor Dr Liz Curran teaches and convenes in the ANU Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. She is the Associate Director of the ANU Centre for the Profession, Education and Regulation in Law (PEARL).
Since 1992 she has been an In-house Adviser to the Consumer Action Law Centre (ANU secondment). She is an evaluator on effective legal practice including restorative justice & multi-disciplinary practice. Her research is on access to justice.
She is a regular media commentator and Expert Adviser on the Law Council of Australia’s ‘Justice Project’.
Associate Professor Curran was appointed Senior Fellow at Nottingham Trent University (2017-2022), exploring ‘New Approaches to Lawyering to Better Meet Community Need’ informed by research.Previously, she has served as clinical legal educator, solicitor, director of a community legal service, director of a human rights NGO and a leader of a policy unit.
