Monash Law school has partnered with BotL. and Lander & Rogers to deliver a 12-week, University-industry partnered, clinical family law innovation project – the first of its kind.
Lander & Rogers is a leading independent Australian law firm which is committed to the development of legal technology and innovation by creating Australia's first dedicated LawTech Hub. BotL. is a student-led, not-for-profit founded to push Australian law schools to change the way they prepare law students for the future of legal practice. The deep industry knowledge of Lander & Rogers' leading Family & Relationship Law practice coupled with BotL.'s vibrant approach to hands-on learning of legal technology places students at the heart of technological disruption in law.
During the placement, students will take part in weekly workshops to develop understanding of the client's journey in a family law matter. They will attend seminars to understand the client's perspective as well as the internal law firm's supporting processes with a view to developing the practice of family law in an innovative way.
This unit will impart knowledge of human centred legal design and build empathy into the processes clients and lawyers experience.
