Description of Organisation

The Victorian Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby works towards equality, social justice and human rights for members of the LGBTIQ community. The VGLRL achieves its goals through representation, advocacy and working with the media.

As a community based lobby group, the VGLRL works with and for the community, along with non-profit, health and representatives of government agencies to create positive change in the area of human rights and policy development.

Information for university students/graduates or practising lawyers

What are you looking for in a volunteer?

Understanding of lbgti issues, basic legal knowledge and legal research skills. Enthusiasm.

Volunteers will be required to write submissions, adhere to deadlines and engage in legal research.

What electives/areas of study are viewed favourably?

Preferably law students, however, anybody that possesses basic legal knowledge is most welcome

How many volunteers do you take a year?

Roughly 12 a year but varies
