Innovation and Intellectual Property group

The Innovation and Intellectual Property (IIP) group works on projects at the forefront of technological development and intellectual property, spanning a range of legal fields including copyright, patents, trademark, privacy, cyberlaw, competition and trade secrets.

The group's research regularly informs public debate and influences courts and national and international policymakers at the highest levels.

Recent projects span topics such as regulation of tobacco packaging, intermediary liability, regulation of bio and nanotechnologies, venture capital, copyright exceptions, freedom of speech, employee intellectual property and governance of the internet and domain names.

IIP group members have strong international affiliations, are actively involved in the leadership of a host of legal and public interest groups, and have a combined wealth of experience supervising innovation-related research degrees to completion.
