The Covid-19 Crisis and Corporate Governance

18 months ago, Monash Law School participated in a major 24 hour global conference on 'The Covid-19 Crisis and its Aftermath: Corporate Governance Implications and Policy Challenges', which was convened by the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) and the Global Corporate Governance Colloquia (GCGC). Other participating academic institutions included the University of Oxford, Columbia Law School, Harvard Law School, Stanford University, University of Tokyo, National University of Singapore, Peking University, Tel Aviv University and Goethe University Frankfurt.

Monash Law School hosted two Panels with leading Australian experts and business people, who examined the health and economic implications of the crisis and its impact on boards of directors.

These Panel Discussions has never been more critical than now, when, in spite of mass vaccination, Omicron threatens to seriously disrupt the Australian economy and health system and Federal and State governments seek to find effective policies for economic stability and ‘living with the virus’.
