Monash Law PhD candidate wins prestigious Monash Silver Jubilee Postgraduate Research Scholarship

Yee Fui Ng

Monash University awards one Silver Jubilee Postgraduate Research Scholarship by rotation to faculties each year. This is a prestigious award of Monash University.

In 2012, the recipient is the top ranked applicant in the Faculty of Law, Ms Yee Fui Ng who commenced her PhD candidature on 29 March 2012. Her thesis is supervised by Professor H.P. Lee and Dr Patrick Emerton. Ms Ng will analyse the relevance for constitutional and administrative law and theory of the increasing influence of the media and ministerial advisers on the contemporary executive government.

Ms Ng is currently teaching in the Monash JD program in the areas of constitutional law and legal ethics.  She taught at the Australian National University in the areas of public and administrative law.   She has researched and published various academic articles as well as presented papers at major public law conferences.

Ms Ng previously practised as a solicitor at top tier law firms in Melbourne, London and Canberra.  In addition, she worked as a Policy Adviser at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, as a Senior Legal Adviser at the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet, as well as a Manager at the Victorian Department of Justice.
