Following significant demand for hybrid-ready learning spaces, eSolutions and MEI and BPD have worked to identify and provide a technology uplift to support hybrid teaching across all campuses. With further updates planned over the winter break, the number of hybrid-ready rooms will grow from 102 in semester 1, 2021 to 125 in time for the start of semester 2, 2021 with more centrally-managed rooms added at Caulfield, Peninsula and Clayton campuses.
Learning spaces are considered to be hybrid-ready if they have the following equipment:
- Zoom enabled either via system PC or via a pre-existing Cisco video conference equipment
- In-room high-quality roving microphones
- Presenter/Room camera (including whiteboard capture where available).
While there are two currently supported technology solutions utilising Zoom web conferencing, all learning spaces uplifted for semester 2, 2021 will be utilising the Zoom-enabled in-room/presentor from the in-room PC, as this was identified as the solution preferred by faculties.
