Lessons (Moodle activity)

The Moodle Lesson activity presents content and questions that each student navigates through individually according to their responses to the questions or choices posed. It works on a similar concept to the popular “Gamebook” or “Choose Your Own Adventure” style of book. Moodle Lessons adds an interactive element to the content, thus allowing the student to be actively engaged with the material and improving learning outcomes. Creating a Moodle Lesson requires preparation and organisation of your material for the successful inclusion of Moodle Lessons. Based on how the content is to be used and/or assessed you may want to create a Simple lesson or an Advanced lesson. Consider:

  • Is it a stand-alone learning module with immediate assessment tasks?
  • Is it a supplementary module designed to consolidate student learning of a specific topic?
  • Is it a graded, linear learning experience or an ungraded, non-linear practice session?
  • Can students go back and revisit areas or is it just a once-only opportunity?
