Monash University Library is one of Australia's leading academic libraries, with a long-standing reputation for technological innovation and excellence in customer service.
There are over four million items in our collection, including:
- 3.1 million physical items
- 1.1 million electronic items
New resources are added to the collection daily to ensure Monash staff and students have access to the latest quality resources for teaching, research and study.
The online resources subscribed to by the Library are accessible to Monash staff and students (using passwords) from our website anytime, anywhere.
We are also proud to maintain a number of special collections of national and international significance.
There are seven branch libraries in Victoria, Australia and associated libraries in Malaysia and South Africa. The collection at each branch supports the faculties present on the campus it serves.
Every branch is equipped with computer workstations, photocopying and printing facilities and group and private study areas to facilitate access to, and use of, the collection. To find out more, go to the web page of the branch you wish to visit.
Our services make a critical contribution to the achievement of Monash's education and research strategies.
The Library is a leader in the development of research and learning skills. We collaborate with academic staff to embed the Research Skill Development (RSD) Framework across the faculties and to adopt it as the backbone of the Monash Passport. We contribute to blended learning and the implementation of a virtual learning environment.
We build outstanding collections for research and provide leadership in scholarly communications by improving research data management and capturing, disseminating and promoting Monash's research output through the Research Repository and Monash University Publishing.
