Areas of Responsibility
Areas of responsibility concerning the conduct of the external review of the library are as follows.
University Librarian
- consult with directors on composition of Quality Management Group
- consult with directors on review panel membership and gain approval of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Planning)
- receive review report
- consult with directors and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Planning) on implementation plan
- report major issues or findings to Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Planning)
- report major issues or findings to relevant university and faculty committees
- send copy of review report to CHEQ
- consult with directors and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Planning) on progress of implementation plan
- report to Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Planning) on major findings, issues, implementation progress
Directors
- consult with University Librarian on membership of Quality Management Group
- consult with University Librarian on membership of review panel
- consult with University Librarian on implementation plan
- consult with University Librarian on implementation progress
Chair of Review Panel
- consult with University Librarian on augmenting review panel if necessary
- following receipt of self review document, coordinate requests for extra information from panel members
- consult with University Librarian on review panel visit program
- facilitate and lead the review panel visit
- coordinate drafting of the review panel report
- ensure receipt of review panel report by University Librarian within two months of panel visit
Review Panel Members
- participate fully in review process and assist chair wherever possible
- following receipt of self review document, request additional information, if necessary
- assist in drafting review panel report
Review Panel Secretary
- publicise review
- call for submissions
- take notes during review panel visit meetings
- organise support for review panel
- play central role in drafting review report
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Planning)
- determine and publicise schedule of reviews
- approve review panel membership
- consult with University Librarian on development and progress of implementation plan
- establish patterns and trends in review reports
- determine implications, findings and lessons of university-wide importance
- bring general issues and concerns to attention of university committees and bodies
Vice-Chancellor
- monitor progress made on general issues and concerns identified by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Planning)
