"Opening hours meet my needs."
What the Library is doing about it:
- We are reviewing opening hours this year.
We regularly review opening hours and take into consideration feedback from students and staff. Library attendance figures are also an important consideration. Key outcomes of the last review were greater consistency across the libraries, predictability and practical, cost-neutral improvements. In the last two years, most libraries have opened at 8am during semester and for extended hours during exam periods.
- We are looking at various options to better meet users’ needs.
We recognise the demand for extended hours and 24-hour study facilities. We continue to explore options and work with other areas of the University in providing study spaces on campus. We are investigating whether students need access to the physical collections and other library services during the late hours. We also need to consider the issues of campus security and the staffing requirements of extended hours.
