There are many different services cross the university to support researchers, including in managing their research data. The role of the Library's Research Data team is to help you understand your responsibilities as a researcher working with data, best practices in managing the data, and to connect you with the different services and resources available to you.

Can point you in the direction of relevant policy frameworks and funder guidelines, assist with data planning, help identify data archives and repositories in your subject area, and run or organise information sessions and training workshops in your area.
Research Outputs Collection Service (ROCS)
The Research Outputs Collection Service (ROCS) provide support and advice relating to research outputs to meet internal and external reporting purposes including the Excellence in Research for Australian submission, for display on external researcher profiles and for Academic Performance Standard reviews.

Other University Services
Monash Research Office
The Monash Research Office works in partnership with university staff and researchers to support the development of coherent, compelling and highly competitive proposals, ensuring their compliance with funding body requirements. They act as the key liaison point between Monash University and funding bodies such as the ARC, NHMRC and many others, ensuring a smooth and timely flow of information.

Ethics and Compliance
Provide advice on all aspects of research ethics.
The Library's Copyright Advisor can give you guidance on all aspects of copyright and help with seeking permission for use of third party content.
The Office of the General Council can help you with legal and contractual aspects of research data ownership, copyright and other intellectual property e.g. in relation to funding agreements.
Data Protection and Privacy
The University's Data Protection and Privacy office:
- providing expert assistance with interpretation and compliance regarding applicable privacy laws and the Data Protection and Privacy Procedure
- data management privacy related queries, incidents and complaints
The University Privacy Coordinators:
- assist staff and students with general queries regarding data management and privacy
- provide data management and privacy advice regarding the handling and management of personal or health information within their faculty or division
Monash eResearch Centre (MeRC)
MeRC staff provide advice about technical solutions for storing, organising research data. MeRC staff can suggest storage options from a portfolio of solutions available at Monash and through national service providers.
Provide advice relating to information security and IT asset risk assessments.
Enterprise and Engagement
Monash Innovation staff can help you with aspects of identifying, protecting and commercially exploiting intellectual property in data that you generate. They can also assist with the drafting of data transfer agreements, especially for physical research data (e.g. tissue samples).
Records management staff can advise you on statutory requirements and standards for retention, appraising research data and records for archival significance, and secure destruction of data.
