Cameron Rose teaches digital imaging, video and motion graphics at Monash University Art Design & Architecture in Melbourne, Australia. Dr Rose also produces video, animation, installation and theatre. Dr Rose investigates how communication design can facilitate social and health research, represent diversity, translate between epistemologies and advocate for health and social justice issues. In 2013 he was awarded the RMIT Design Research Institute Design Challenge Award. In 2017 Dr Rose founded the Digital Bridges Network (DBN) to establish links between academics and media artists in Australia and South Korea. The DBN explores social and community issues relevant to both countries. The first project will investigate the experience of aging through video and virtual reality. The DBN is funded by a DFAT Australia-Korea Foundation grant and is conducted in partnership with Korean National University of Arts.
