Dr Alice Twemlow
Alice Twemlow is a design historian with expertise in the history of design criticism.
Alice is a research professor at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hauge and an Associate Professor at Leiden University. Previously she directed the Design Curating and Writing Master at Design Academy Eindhoven and founded the Design Research MA at the School of Visual Arts, New York.
Alice has a PhD and an MA in the History of Design from the Royal College of Art/Victoria & Albert Museum, London. Her current research focuses on design’s complex interrelations with time and the environment. She is author of Sifting the Trash: A History of Design Criticism (MIT Press, 2017) and What is Graphic Design For? (RotoVision, 2006).
