Professor Mohamed El-Sioufi
Mohamed El-Sioufi is an urban development advisor specialising in sustainable urban development, housing and slum upgrading, and has over 40 years of experience practicing, advising central and local governments and teaching in academia.
From 1995 to 2014, Professor El-Sioufi worked with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) as a Senior Human Settlements Advisor. He was responsible for policy advice, technical co-operation and capacity development in the Arab States, Africa, Asia/Pacific and Latin America/Caribbean regions.
Professor El-Sioufi developed and managed programs in the areas of human settlements design, environmental planning and management, urban governance, housing and slum upgrading policy and strategy development, programs and projects, post-crisis institutional capacity development and resource mobilisation.
Professor El-Sioufi also evaluates and advises several urban and architectural master’s programs in Sweden, Germany and Egypt.
