Wendy Ellerton is a lecturer in the Department of Design and part of the WonderLab PhD Research cohort. Her research is interested in the relationship between learner mindsets and multi-modal teaching.
She has a Masters in Type and Media from the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Netherlands and has worked with a number of international type foundries. Over the last 15 years she has practiced as a designer at Hofstede Design and Studio Round, and as a consultant to Future Days and Maythorpe. In 2014 she founded her own practice Polar Space to house a diverse design practice that spans identity, publication, packaging, type and furniture design.
Wendy has lectured on type design for the Australian Graphic Design Association and conducted design workshops internationally in Florence, Milan, Beijing and Riyadh. Her teaching practice encourages learners to develop of a mindful and sustainable practice that emphasizes process, creativity, collaboration and design thinking.
