Wominjeka Djeembana Indigenous Practice Research Lab is delighted to be able to host a guest talk from MADA artist in residence Jason Baerg. Jason (Cree, Métis) is an Indigenous artist, curator and educator based at OCAD University in Toronto, Canada and will present Nomadic Bounce: Intersections in Art, Technology and Traditional Knowledge.

Wominjeka Djeembana is a Lab of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture and investigates the synergies of Indigenous Ways of Knowing with practice led research. Indigenous knowledge production moves across many discipline areas that have been created by various discourses and institutions such as universities. This Lab interrogates these spaces. Monash University (with leadership from MADA and Associate Dean Indigenous, Dr Brian Martin) has recently signed an MoU with OCAD University. It is interesting to note that the first operating principle of the OCAD University Academic Plan (2017-2022) is Decolonization.
