Design for Health Symposium 2019
The international community in design for health and wellbeing is committed to building connections, increasing knowledge and awareness of the opportunities and impacts within design for health, and growing the discipline through annual symposia in different locations around Asia Pacific. The inaugural Design for Health Symposium was organised and hosted by Monash Design Health Collab in December 2018 at Monash University’s Caulfield campus.
For 2019, host Good Health Design brings the symposium to Auckland, New Zealand, with theme ‘What is design for health and wellbeing?’.
A range of keynote speakers are scheduled to present, including Daphne Flynn, director and practice professor at Monash Design Health Collab, who will discuss the complex relationships between academia and industry in design for health practice. Two Design Health Collab staff, Eden Potter and Tina Dinh will facilitate an interactive workshop session about helping clinicians use design tools to analyse healthcare journeys in order to come up with ideas to improve healthcare systems.
The ongoing success of this series of Design for Health symposia has led to Monash Design Health Collab working with Design Singapore Council and National University Singapore to develop the 2020 event in Singapore. Watch this space!
